Popeye Large Pencil and Box
acquired:September 2004
circa:1930's

featured: Rare Recent Acquisitions

The Eagle Pencil Co. of New York produced this 10-1/4" pencil. Although the 10-3/4" box has a 1929 copyright, the pencil probably dates to the late 1930s. Popeye is shown on the pencil with the words "Well, blow me down! This is what I calls a marvelusk pencil." It is complete with an eraser, but has hairline cracks on the pencil's barrel. The box is complete, but has some soiling.
