Popeye and Swee' Pea are featured in this deep dish ceramic bowl and cup combination. The set is mint. No cracks, chips, discoloration or retouches. The gold rim of the cup is complete (reflections in the photos are covering the gold rim in spots.)The 6-1/2" by 1-1/2" bowl shows Swee' Pea riding Popeye with the caption, "I'm Popeye the sea-horse!" The 2-7/8" cup has Swee' Pea in Popeye's net with the words, "The other one got away!" On the bottom of the bowl is "Made in England." No other ID. Probably dates to 1930s-'40s.
