Mickey Mouse Recipe Scrap Book Ad, Scotland 1945
acquired:July 2005
circa:1945featured: Rare Acquisitions
Disney promoted Mickey Mouse recipe scrap books and cards in the U.S. starting in 1934. By the mid-1940s the scrap books were being promoted in England and Scotland. This fragile scrap book advertisement by A. and J. Donaldson of Glasgow features Dopey, the Fiddler Pig, Panchito and Gus Goose. Panchito's appearance dates this to about 1945 when the Three Caballeros motion picture was released . The ad is 6-1/2" by 4-1/4" and each character is connected by a narrow bit of paper. One connection between Dopey and the Fiddler Pig is loose. Otherwise, the ad has only minor creasing. The back is blank except for two smudges. There is a Disney copyright.
