The David Mckay Co. produced this "Popeye's How to Draw Cartoons" book in 1939. The 10-1/4" by 8-1/4" book by Popeye artist Joe Musial is complete and has the original dust jacket. The 44-page book features an introduction to drawing cartoon characters, plus pages devoted to faces, figures, animals, clothes furniture and caricatures. He also includes directions for drawing most of the Popeye characters. The book has a strong spine with no loose pages and only slight edge wear. Two pages have 3" creases, while one page has a 3" tear. There are no stains, writing or coloring. The dust jacket has a number of small tears and one 2-1/2" tear. Some bits of paper are missing along the edge, but the dust jacket has protected the book well.
